Sophie Thivierge

West Springfield-Sophie A. (Piligian) Thivierge, 93, passed away September 24, 2023, at Bear Mountain of West Springfield. She was born in Springfield on June 19, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Hiag and Martha (Ohonesian) Piligian. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, James Thivierge and sons Michael and Thomas, as well as beloved partner, Richard Thivierge. She is survived by her loving son, Edward of West Springfield, her close friends and caretakers, Maribel “Marty” Toledo and Maria Hebert. She also leaves behind her loving dog Pepper who was always by her side. Sophie was a beautiful, and very caring person. She was a lover of nature and enjoyed the beach, camping and long walks. The calling hours will be Friday October 6, 2023 from 11AM – 12 noon at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. The Funeral Home Service will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sophie’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Massachussetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
