Stella F. (Augustyniak) Barbieri

Stella F. (Augustyniak) Baraiera, age 91, passed away on Oct. 14, 2017 at Wingate of West Springfield. She was born on June 21, 1926, in Springfield. She was a daughter of the late John and Gladys (Lemanski) Augustyniak. Stella worked for many years in the Agawam Public School System as a cafeteria worker before she retired. Stella was a volunteer for Hospice, a member of the Chicopee Polish Women's Club, the Agawam Senior Center, the Golden Age Club and the West Springfield Garden Club. She was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to travel and watch sports, especially the Patriots, Red Sox and Boston Bruins. She is predeceased by her husband Raymond M. Barbieri who passed away in 1993. She leaves her loving son Raymond J. Barbieri and his wife Laurie Cassidy of West Springfield: 4 grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Barbieri, Malinda Shean and Jeanna Misischia. She also leaves her beloved great grandchildren Nora and Claire Shean along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Joseph Augustyniak and 3 sisters Irene Auauslvniak. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Toomey O'Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St, West Springfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial in St Thomas Cemetery.
