Sue M. (Merli) Peterson

West Springfield � Cecelia �Sue� M. Peterson, 95, passed away peacefully Sunday at home. Sue was born January 10, 1921 in Simsbury, CT to the late Anacleto and Angelina (Guitoni) Merli. Sue grew up in Windsor, CT and has lived in West Springfield for over 75 years. She worked for the Teamsters Union, Local 404, for over 25 years before she retired. She loved her family and friends the most. Sue belonged to the West Springfield Senior Center and enjoyed doing ceramics. She is a communicant to St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Peterson in 2004. Sue is survived by her loving daughter Pamela Powers-White and her husband Robert of Centerville, MA. She was the cherished grandmother to Tyrrell and her husband Todd, Tiffany and her husband Sean, and Courtney, and she was the great grandmother to Margaret, Claire, Jack, Brady and Sam. She was the caring sister to Josephine and Dorothy and was predeceased by her brothers and sisters John, Henry, Rose, Louise and Mary. Calling hours for Sue will be Thursday from 9AM � 10:30AM at TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sue�s name to West Springfield Fireman Relief Fund, 44 Van Deene Ave, West Springfield, MA 01089.
