Susan C. (Duclos) Hughes, 77, passed away August 17, 2024, at Care One Redstone in East Longmeadow. Born in Springfield, March 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Pauline (Valliere) Duclos. Susan worked for many years as the deli/seafood manager for the Big Y Supermarkets at various locations including Chicopee. She loved to travel, was an avid Red Sox fan and loved her cats, Nook and Cranny. She leaves her beloved sister, Rita Scagliarini and her husband John of Orlando, her loving nieces, Sara Scagliarini of Springfield and Marie Sanders and her husband Darrell of Orlando, her former husband, Thomas Hughes, her 3 great nieces, her brother in law, Joseph, and her very close friend, Karen MacDonald. She was predeceased by her sister Renee Duclos. A funeral home service will be held Tuesday August 27, 2024, at 11AM from the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield with burial to follow in St Thomas Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11AM. The family would like to thank Care One Redstone for their compassionate and professional care during Susan’s stay in the Hanover Unit especially Tammy and Cetsey.
