Theresa E Lane

Theresa “Tess” (Foley) E. Lane, 96, entered into eternal life on October 3, 2023 at Baystate Hospital in Springfield, MA. Born February 11, 1927, in Brighton, MA and raised in South Braintree, MA. She was the youngest and only girl out of 10 Children. She was a long time resident of West Springfield, almost 70 years. She began as a stay-at-home Mom and eventually began a second career at SIS Bank for 30 years. She is predeceased by many family members: her husband John F. Lane who entered eternal life in September 2014 and her daughter Maryann E. Lane who entered eternal life as of May 2023. Also predeceased: her parents, John and Margaret (Moriarty) Foley and her nine brothers Joe, Bob, Ed, John, Fred, Paul, Timothy, George and Leo. She is deeply loved and greatly missed by her children Diana Lane of Norton, MA; Kathy O’Brien and her husband Paul of West Springfield, MA; Ret Police Captain John (Jay) Lane and his wife Mary Lou of Placida, FL; Ret Lt Col Edward Lane and his wife Ale of Woodbridge, VA; Jim Lane and his wife Becky of Del Ray Beach, FL; Michael Lane and his wife Jean of Southwick, MA, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved their Gigi. She was a parishioner of St Thomas Church in West Springfield and was a long-time member of the Ramapogue Women’s Club. She loved to knit and crochet, each of the kids and grandkids have something made by her just for them. She also loved playing bridge. Friends are kindly invited to visit with family for calling hours on Tuesday, October 10 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:30am with burial at St Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield MA.
