West Springfield - Thomas J. “Tom” Green, passed away on July 31, 2025. He was 67 years old. Born in Springfield on October 10, 1957, he was the son of the late John and Ann (Doherty) Green. Tom earned degrees from UMass and Western New England College. He was the founder of Rental Solutions and later founded Green Publishing Company in 1993, which he owned and operated for over 25 years. His company published and distributed several regional magazines, including For Rent Guide, Home Improvement Guide, Auto Shopper, House Hunter, Truck Shopper, and Auto Buyer. Tom was an important contributor to his community, serving on the Saint Thomas the Apostle School Board and participating in local fiscal and planning efforts in West Springfield. He was a skilled athlete in his youth, playing baseball as a catcher and also enjoying hockey and skiing. He passed his knowledge and love of sports to the next generation as a CYO Basketball Coach and West Springfield Parks and Recreation Baseball Coach. He attended Cathedral High School, where he made many lifelong friends. Tom loved to travel with his family and especially enjoyed summers in Ocean City, NJ. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Green. He will be missed by his loving wife Debra (LaGuercia), and their twins, Noah Elliot and Jordan Marie Green, who were born on his birthday. Tom is also survived by his brother Michael Green (m. Dennis) of Las Cruces, NM, and sisters Fran Krauss (m. Bill) of Worcester, Patti Allard of Chicopee, and Mary Roccanti (m. Bob) of Ludlow; brother-in-law David LaGuercia (m. Randi) of Florida and sister-in-law Darlene Roache (m. Neil) of Westfield, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 4–7 PM on Wednesday, August 6, at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 7, at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield, followed by burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
