Valentina P. Matvejuk

Valentina P. Matvejuk, 69, of Springfield MA, passed away early Tuesday morning at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Novgorod, Russia and lived most of her life there until immigrating to the United States in 1988 with her husband and children. She was the eldest daughter of the late Alexandra (Tukina) and Peter Boltunov. A devoted and active member of Crosslight Gospel Church in West Springfield. She worked as a social worker for many years helping immigrants assimilate to their new life in America. She was the beloved wife of the late Evgeni Matvejuk (2020), a loving mother to Dimitri, Lyudmila, and Evelina, of Springfield and Alexander and his wife Patricia of Chicopee, caring sister of Vladimir, Nikoli, Alexander, and Tatiana, and devoted grandmother to Allison. Valentina also leaves behind her beloved beagle Cash. Calling hours will be Monday from 10:30am – 11:30am at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. The Funeral Home Service will follow at 11:30am. Burial will immediately follow at the Agawam Center Cemetery. Please send all flowers to the address provided above.
