Walter Miller

West Springfield - Walter Miller, 85, of Buckingham Avenue passed away Monday, March 6th, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Chicopee and lived most of his life in West Springfield. He worked for years as a machine operator and later as a supervisor at General Fibre Box formerly of West Springfield. He served on the Credit Union of General Fibre Box and was a Union Stewart. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Walter was a Life Member of the West Springfield/Agawam Elks Lodge and he ran their summer pavilion for years and was also a longtime member of the Dante Club. He was honored as the Elk of the year in 1991. Walter helped organize benefits for the Scleroderma Foundation for years, he was a Boy Scout Leader and he also was a longtime Notary Public. He was the loving husband of 59 years to Kathleen E. (Mc Lellan) Miller, and caring brother-in-law to Lanny Mc Lellan of Houston, TX. The funeral service and burial will be private and Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
