William F. Fitzmaurice

West Springfield � William F. (Billy) FitzMaurice, 91, passed away at home on December 31st. He was born in Springfield on October 6, 1925 to the late Nora (Mackey) and William E. FitzMaurice. He was a lifelong resident of West Springfield. Bill was a veteran of World War II, serving as a bombardier in the Army Air Corps. He was a graduate of Worcester Polytech with a Bachelor�s Degree in Civil Engineering and worked as an engineer for Daniel O�Connell�s & Son of Holyoke for over thirty years. Bill leaves his loving wife of six-five years, Mary (Vlasak) FitzMaurice. He was the beloved father to his two children, Mark J. FitzMaurice of Hillsboro, OR and Ann E. FitzMaurice currently of West Springfield, his daughter-in-laws, Ann W. FitzMaurice and Denise G. Souza. He was a devoted grandfather to his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and was a caring brother to the late John (Bud) FitzMaurice of Scottsdale, AZ and the late Mary (FitzMaurice) Discenza a lifelong resident of W. Spfld. Bill also leaves many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was a devoted husband and father with a deep faith in God. The family would like to take this time to express our heartfelt thanks to the VA, Baystate Hospice, Home Watch Care Givers for the excellent and very much appreciated care that these agencies and their caregivers provided us.
