William J. Matteson

William “Bill” J. Matteson, 68, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, passed away suddenly on Monday November 28, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1954 to the late James and Ilene (Storey) Matteson. Bill proudly served in the US Army. He worked in the Chicopee area for many years at Uniroyal, Jenrose Wines & Liquors Package Store and the Market Square. Bill enjoyed his cars, playing pool and watching football. His Chevy Chase sense of humor will be remembered always. Bill leaves his four siblings; Donna Benoit of W. Spfld, David Matteson also of W. Spfld., Kathleen Beaudette of Feeding Hills and Kenneth Matteson of Somers, Ct., along with several nieces and nephews and many friends. His also leaves his longtime companion Maureen Herbert of Chicopee. Family and Friends are invited to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam for a 3 PM Service with military honors on WEDNESDAY.
