William Preye, Jr.

William Preye, Jr. passed away September 4th at the age of 96. Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 as a field lineman for the Signal Corps in France and Germany and received the Bronze Star. Bill had a long career in the publishing industry working for Fawcett Publications and CBS as the director of the sales force. Bill was deeply loved and cherished by his family and friends. He was predeceased by Shirley, his wife of over 50 years. They raised three children in Norwalk CT and in 2008 Bill moved to Heritage Woods in Agawam, MA where he enjoyed the leisurely life of assisted living. He is survived by his son, William Preye and his wife Sandra, daughters Claudia Goldberg, Sandra Chapin and her husband Tom, grandsons Bill and Matthew Preye and great grandsons William, Andrew and Samuel Preye. There will be a Memorial Service, Sunday, 3PM at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., W. Spfld. Committal will be Monday, 10AM at the MA Veteran�s Cemetery, Agawam.
