Wilma R. Simpson, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Mercy Medical Center. Wilma was born in Springfield on June 27, 1921 to the late Frank and Lyda (Bradway) Ruddock. She was raised and lived most of her life in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield. She was a member of the Lady of Hope Church. She moved to Agawam in 2009. Wilma worked for Friendly Ice Cream Corp as an Executive Secretary for over 25 years. After retirement she worked at Putnam�s Gift and Card Shop at the Springfield Plaza, volunteered at Mercy Hospital Gift Shop, and was a member of the Golden Age at the Senior Center at Hungry Hill. Wilma was predeceased by her beloved husband William Simpson in 1986. She is the beloved mother to Marilyn Albaugh and her husband Charles of Ludlow and Carolyn LaChappelle and her husband William of Feeding Hills. She is the cherished grandmother to Cheryl(Barry), David(Cynthia), Michael(Adrienne), Bryan(Julie), Meghan and she was the great grandmother to Gianna, Mia, Guilia, Alisa, Jared, and Matthew. The funeral will be held Thursday 8am at Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home at 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, followed by an 9am Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St. Burial will be in St. Michael�s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM.
