West Springfield- Winston L Ellenwood, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 29, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Barre, VT, July 18, 1928, he was the son of the late Melburn and Florence (Martin) Lewis. He was later adopted by Harry and Mary (Thomas) Ellenwood. Winston was a US Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. Having graduated from Northeastern University, Winston later received his Honorary Bachelors from Western New England College. He remained employed in banking through the many mergers and acquisitions of Bank of America, Third National Bank of Springfield, Fleet Bank and the Bank of New England. He loved gardening, classical music, and reading the Wall Street Journal. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Miriam �Mickey� (Carto) Ellenwood, his beloved daughters, Martha Kauppinen of Oxford, MA, Beth Edwards and her husband Todd of Scarborough, ME and Mary Butova of Enfield, CT, his cherished grandchildren, Jason, Shelby, Eric, Kurt, Scott, Christie, Sarah and Marissa; his caring siblings, Elaine Hewins and Donna Vella both of Westfield, and John Lewis of New Jersey. A funeral home service will be held Saturday July 9 at 11am from the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield. Calling hours will be from 9am-11am.
