David A. Benoit, 76, passed away Wednesday Jan 26th in Mercy Hospital. He was born in Fall River, MA on Jan 18, 1946 to the late Gustave and Vivian Benoit. Dave graduated from Agawam High School and proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked for many years for the Town of Agawam as a custodian. Dave enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. He served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield. Dave leaves his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia (Morrisseau) Benoit, his brother Paul Benoit of Ware, MA, his sisters; Jackie (Lee) Verill of East Granby, CT., Vivian (Jerry) Coutinho of Westport, MA and Janice Walters of Mace, FL., along with several nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his son Gregory Benoit and his brother Leo Benoit. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held TUESDAY 12 NOON in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Spfld. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. A Calling Hour will be held TUES from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPLFD.
