Obituary

Frank R. Caravaggi, age 82, died on December 5, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.  Born in Springfield December 22, 1938, the son of the late Rico and Marjorie (Touseull) Caravaggi. He was educated in the West Springfield school system, Holyoke Jr. College and Otero College in La Junta, CO.  He participated in football and wrestling and played several seasons in the local semi-pro football league.  He referred to himself as a (Homer) and pulled for the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.  He was employed by the West Springfield Police Department for 25 years and later at Cigna Corp. for 10 years.  He was a member of the Dante Club and the American Legion Post # 207.  He was a communicant of the former St. Ann’s Church in West Springfield.  He is survived by his beloved wife June (Paro) Caravaggi, a son Michael and his wife Monique and grandchildren Connor and Mina Caravaggi, all who reside in the St. Louis area.  Burial will be private.  Family and friends may attend a memorial service at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield Thursday at noon with a calling hour from 11-12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
