Harriet J. (Nickolades) DelNegro, 79, of Adrian Avenue passed away Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center after courageously fighting cancer for five years. She was born in Springfield on August 23, 1940 to the late John and Katherine Nickolades. She grew up in Springfield, graduated from Springfield Trade School in 1958, and later attended Holyoke Community College. She worked for years in the manufacturing division of the former K & M Electronics Company. Harriet loved her annual trips to Atlantic City with her sisters and also enjoyed shopping with friend Sherry. She was the beloved widow of Ciro J. DelNegro, Jr. who passed away in 2018, loving mother of Ciro DelNegro III and his wife Janet of West Spfld., Dino DelNegro and his wife Lisa of West Spfld., Mark DelNegro and his wife Kristin of West Spfld., and Todd DelNegro and his husband Bill of Westfield, caring sister of Tula Nickolades of Agawam and Jo-Ann Karas of Springfield and the late Nicholas Nickolades, Dena Nickolades, and Bess Georgantas, devoted grandmother of three, and great grandmother of four. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and her close friend, Sherry Redmond of Springfield. All funeral services will be private and Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations in Harriet’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
