Michael A. Chapman, 60, of West Springfield, passed away on Dec 1, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born Jan 29, 1960 to the late George and Justine Chapman of West Springfield. Michael attended West Springfield High School. Mike or affectionately known as "Chappy" to his friends is remembered as someone with a generous heart and wonderful sense of humor. Mike was a very good friend to many, he was eager to help anyone that needed him. He worked for Danaher Tool Group of Springfield Ma. He enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, cooking, music, being with his friends, family gatherings and volunteering. Michael would often volunteer in local churches preparing and serving their community meals. However, what he loved most was riding his Harley, whether it was a group ride, a charity ride, a ride with a close friend or a solo ride, that was his passion. Michael leaves his sister Patricia “Patty” DeLuca, her husband Thomas DeLuca, his two nephews Thomas and Joseph DeLuca of Agawam and his brother George Chapman of Needham, Ma. Michael also leaves many beloved friends. He will be missed and remembered by everyone who's heart he has touched. Calling Hours will be held Friday, December 11th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Michael’s name to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
