Myrna E. (Bennett) Stevens, 106, the oldest resident of West Springfield passed away Sunday at Bear Mountain Nursing Home in West Springfield. She was born in Stevensville, PA and moved to West Springfield at 18 yrs. of age and lived here most of her life. She worked as a Secretary at Wesson Women’s Hospital for years in the Labor and Delivery Unit. Myrna was a member of The Church of the Good Shepard and was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and Brazilian embroidery. Myrna was the beloved widow of Douglas N. Stevens who passed away in 1991, loving mother of Charles Stevens and his wife Maria of Westfield, Ernest Stevens of Zephyrhills, FL, and Jacqueline Witek of Jupiter, FL, caring sister of Evangeline Tannabaum of Wallingford, CT, devoted grandmother of Jason Stevens, John Pignature and Anna Wassung and husband Gary, Glen Stevens and his wife Amy, Jill Felix, Tina Girard and her husband Steven, and James Moccio and his wife Kasey, and cherished great-grandmother of 15, and great-great-grandmother of 5. All Funeral Services are private and Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
