Peter Frederic Hooben, 59, of Ohio Avenue passed away Saturday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Holyoke on December 8, 1962 and has lived most of his life in West Springfield. He worked in the property management division of the Capri Apartments in West Springfield. Peter was a 1981 graduate of the former Cathedral High School. After that he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed playing the guitar. He enjoyed spending time with family and was a devout Christian. Peter was devoted to all his family and was a mentor and teacher to the younger generation. He was the beloved son of Gertrude (Bonneau) Hooben of West Springfield and the late William Hooben (2012), loving brother of William Hooben and Eric Hooben and his wife Dawn all of West Springfield, and he also leaves his three cherished nephews Harry and Maxwell Hooben and Zachary Coleman and mother Ronnnie Coleman. There will be Funeral Mass 10 am Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church followed by a burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
