Regina A. (Picarelli) Spigarelli, 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Heritage Hall West in Agawam, MA. She was born in Exeter, PA on June 23, 1931, daughter of the late Susan (Agostini) and Philip Picarelli. Regina grew up in Wyoming, PA and graduated from Wyoming High School Class of 1949. She worked for a short time in the payroll department of the Naval shipyards in Bayonne, NJ. She married Oliver Spigarelli on June 1, 1957, living in Hilldale for several years before returning to Wyoming, where she later worked in the garment industry. She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church in Exeter, PA and was a member of the Christian Mothers.
Regina loved cooking and was especially known for her baking. While cooking or cleaning she also loved to sing to her favorite crooners. In 2002 she moved to West Springfield, MA to be closer to her family.
Regina was predeceased by her husband Oliver Spigarelli and her siblings Elio Picarelli, Lena Terracino and Anita Fetch. She leaves her son Philip Spigarelli and his wife Joanne of West Springfield, her sister Mary Loyack of East Longmeadow, MA and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The calling hours will be Tuesday, May 23 from 4-7 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Additional calling hours will be from 9-10:30 am Thursday, May 26 at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, PA, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Anthony’s Church in Exeter. Burial will follow at the Italian Independent Cemetery, 101 Stites Street, West Wyoming, PA.
Regina’s family would like to thank the staff on F Wing of Heritage Hall West for their compassionate care, especially in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in Regina’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
