Richard T. Grover, 73, passed away Oct 1, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born Dec. 30, 1946 to the late Robert and Pearl Grover. Dick graduated from West Springfield High School, Class of 1965. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Dick worked for many years as a linemen for NYNEX and later a manager for Verizon. An avid hockey player and golfer, he was a longtime member at St. Anne Country Club. He loved spending time with his St Anne crew and “The Girls”. Dick also served on the board of directors of Freedom Credit Union. His truest passion in life were his grandchildren and supporting their many sporting and school events. He leaves his children; Jason Grover and his wife Tracy of Feeding Hills, his daughter Jaimie Allsop and her husband Stuart of E. Longmeadow, his grandchildren; Kiana, Kannon and Kaden Grover and Gabriel, Aiden and Lincoln Allsop, his sister Laurie (Rhodes) Newman, his several nieces and a nephew and his Uncle Larry Barker and family. He also leaves his former wife Jane (Harrington) Solitario and her husband Michael, his dearest friend Bill O’Brien and his longtime companion Noreen Poole and family. Dick was predeceased by his brothers; Robert (his twin), Gary and Daniel Grover. A Funeral Service will be held TUES at 12:30 PM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W. SPFLD. Burial will follow with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling Hours will be held MONDAY from 4 to 7 PM.
