Richard A. Roberts, Sr., 84, of Oxford Place passed away Tuesday at Mercy Medical Ctr. in Springfield. He was born in Springfield on July 19, 1937 to the late Alice (DeGray) and Horace Roberts. He grew up and spent most of his life in Springfield before settling in West Springfield in 2020. He worked as a truck driver for the former Republic Oil and retired in 1984. Richard enjoyed the casinos and loved to visit MGM, Foxwoods, and Las Vegas. He was the loving husband of 37 years to Therese A. (LeBeau) Roberts, beloved father Richard Roberts, Jr. of Seattle, WA, Lisa Carrillo and her husband Jose of Springfield and Chris Roberts of West Springfield, devoted grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 5. There will be Committal Service Monday (4/4) at 2 pm at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s name may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
