Roger A. Peltier Lt. Col. USAF ret., 73, passed away Saturday, January 30 at Mercy Hospital with his loving wife by his side. Born in Springfield, August 24, 1947, the son of the late Armand and Claire (Fortier) Peltier. Roger was a graduate of St. Michael’s College in VT and received his Master’s Degree from American International College. He was a highly decorated combat Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam who received among other awards, the Distinguished Flying Cross. He owned and operated Peltier Tool Company for many years. He was an active member of the community, coaching baseball, soccer, a Cub Scout Leader and serving on the Arts Council. His hobbies included model trains and was a member of the Berkshire Model Railroad Club. He leaves his loving wife, Florence (Parker) Carpino Peltier, his beloved children, Jennifer Bonenfant and her husband Matthew of Westfield and David R. Peltier of West Springfield, his beloved siblings, Dianne Dolat of Coventry, CT, Norman Peltier and his wife Linda of Canton CT and Gerald Peltier and his wife Theresa of Groton, SD, his beloved grandchildren, Alexander and Ava Auclair, his beloved stepchildren, John, Raymond and Angela Carpino, his former wife, Ellen Gates and several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 4 from 4 - 6 PM at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Burial with military honors will be at the Mass Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam Friday at 10 AM.
