Shirley Marie (Church) Crum, 92, formerly of Circle Drive passed away May 24, 2022, at Heritage Hall. She was born in Springfield on May 5, 1930, to the late John and Theresa (Masi) Church. She grew up in Huntington, graduated from Huntington High School and has lived most of her life in West Springfield. Shirley was an office worker for the former James River Corp (presently Rexam) of West Springfield. She was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. Shirley's greatest joy was going to her grandchildren's sporting events and "Ummie" always had a cooler full of candy for all of the players. Every year on Thanksgiving there was a family reunion at her house where all gathered to enjoy her favorite holiday and eat a feast. She hosted this for over 60 years. She was the beloved widow of Robert J. Crum who passed away in 1983, loving mother of Kathy Norman and her husband Scot of Leominster and Debbie Sadak of West Springfield, caring sister of Florence Packard of Suffield, CT, devoted grandmother of Kelly Shaw, Adam Norman, Lisa Kenton, David Bienia, Kevin Bienia, Nicole Santos, and Michael Sadak, and cherished great grandmother of 16. Shirley was predeceased by her daughter Linda Bienia in 2022 and her son-in-law James Sadak in 2019. Calling Hours will be Tuesday June 7 from 9-11AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield with a funeral home service to follow at 11AM. Burial will be private.
