Thomas R. Armstrong, 79, passed away peacefully March 7, 2022 after a period of failing health. He was born January 6, 1943. Tom graduated from West Springfield High School and was a longtime employee for the United State Postal Service at the bulk center in Springfield. He enjoyed hiking and drag racing with his 1987 Buick Regal T Type. Besides his parents, Thomas F. and Helen (Bock) Armstrong, he was also predeceased by his loving brother Samuel D. Armstrong on March 6, 2021. He is survived by his sister Carol Downing of NH, niece Maureen Downing of Nevada and her son Eamon, along with his stepchildren; Joseph, Lynn, Lisa and David Betournay. Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in his name to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Parkinson’s Disease Assn., Mass Chapter, 720 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02134.
