Walter Siermienski, Jr., 76, of Lynne Drive passed away Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Newport, RI on January 31, 1945 to the late Jean (Garlow) and Walter Siermienski, Sr. He was a graduate of Westfield Trade School. Walter worked as a machinist in this area for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Walter was a jack of all trades and would help anyone on any project. He will be remembered by all for his loveable, grumpy, dry sarcastic wit. Most of all..He was very proud of his grandkids and to be their Papa. He was the loving husband of 50 years to Cynthia J. (Blake) Siermienski, beloved father of Wendy Siermienski Sbalbi of West Springfield and the late Joseph W. Siermienski who passed away in 2001, devoted grandfather of Mia, Alexander, and Joseph Sbalbi, caring brother of Jean Ingram and her husband Charles of Gonzales, LA, Joyce Ritchie of Westfield, Sandra Crocker and her husband James of West Springfield, and the late Elizabeth Siermienski, former father-in-law of John Sbalbi, and he also leaves several nieces and nephews. There will be calling hours Wednesday, June 2nd, from 5-7 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Walter’s son, the late Joseph Siermienski, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
